If my van has same size u joints on prop shaft and I found a rear axle from van with different sizes, is it just a matter of changing the yoke at the pumpkin or is the pinion different?
Pinion shaft size and spline count need to match up as well.
I want to say in my Jeep days I saw talk of adapter U-Joints, so that may be a possibility.
I don't think that was the name, but they had two different bearing cap sizes.
Yeah try Napa they used to carry those swap u joints. if you have both u joints from what the shaft came off then you can take both to the napa store and they can find one that will fit both.
Yes, I am focusing on Astro/Safari rear ends. I am finding out that some driveshafts have the same size u joints and some are different. Obviously, if it's at the back, that a problem. I don't have time to mess around with modifying stuff in my open-air garage in February so I'll keep hunting for a match. Waiting to hear back on a couple that are on ebay
Thanks for saying something, weird stuff going on today... I merged them together.
