Diff Job

Postby hangmans8 [OP] » March 4th 2009, 4:42am

I got my van with a blowen diff. i have a problem putting the same small diff in. I'm in the middle of putting in a 12 bolt truck diff.
With 8 7/8" ring gear , it will be a little stronger. The size of the brakes are alot bigger. the only difference is spring perches and diff yoke. i have to shorten the drive shaft 1". It will be a good fit. drum to drum is only 1/2" different.
 i figered a 9.5 14 bolt would be to big or is it too big?

Yeah, that will work fine for you. Just be warned that the van will feel a little sluggish on acceleration.
