Moonroof

Moonroof

Postby creatures [OP] » March 7th 2011, 7:18pm

Mine is an Astro Tiara conversion van with a moonroof. Sounds good but you cannot see anything through it when sitting inside. It appears to have it's tinting all fogged up. It may be a vinyl decal as I haven't had a close look at it yet. Has anyone here got one and had similar problems. Was it designed to be viewable or just a show thing?

Here's some more pics http://1in640715.yuku.com/topic/591/1-in-6-LIMO

England. It's the black wheels and decals that goes so well with the modern silver colour that it doesn't look 16 yrs old. It also runs on LPG fuel, towbar, alarmed, exterior limo lights etc. paid a premium for it but once in love ...

That really is an awesome van.

Unfortunately, I have no idea about the moonroof as it's a Tiara thing (aftermarket).

it's a miniature version of the van I had ( 1989 GMC high top ). I had a sunroof though...that was cool. The wife might not be on me so bad if I had gotten a kick butt van like that one....which would be REALLY cool with a V8.

Thanks everybody for all the nice remarks.
I had seen another Tiara with moonroof in white, without the beefier bumper and colour coded wing mirrors etc. but 99% similar. That's why I paid GBP9,000 for mine last year and it only has done 40,000 miles. Mine has a 15inch LCD tv with inbuilt DVD. It has 3 external cctv shown on a 3-way split screen 10.5inch rectangular monitor on the dash. One camera points to the right front fender for squeezing into small spaces as we live in tiny England!
Has the original handheld vac.

I need to replace the radio with a LCD cd player thingy. It's a one unit affair and the larger radios won't fit in the slot. Can anybody recommend a slide out LCD touchscreen cd/radio for me? I will have to get it from US/Canada as radio connectors in UK are different.

My wife hates the heap, dunno why

look at the units at Crutchfield.com Wouldn't say to necessarily buy from them, but you can get a good feel for what is out there and the reviews are usually pretty decent. I was just looking at them and know for sure that I won't cheap out on a low end model based on the reviews.
