I believe the full size Chev bumper is too wide and the curve is too shallow.

i went out and measured one parked on my street. i have no idea who it belongs to and i had to do it fast. from the center of the chevy logo to the outer edge of each bumper is between 36 and 37 inches. its a toss up but the tahoe/truck bumper might be 1 to 1.5" wider total.

the angle where the bumper turns by the wheel is different though. the astro bumper is 69" approx wide across at its narrowest point at the front where the tahoe bumper os closer to 72-73" wide at the very front. both widen up to around 74" where they meet the wheels.

might go. i liked the guy here who put the cheyenne bumper on his gen 1. much different bumper than the tahoe but it looked neat

Which ARB/ model is that for Jack? What did you have to mod for that bumper? Always thought it was heavy on mods to fit right... very cool.

Hmmm... stock Chevy/ GMC 1500 bumper, no mods to the bumper itself... interesting! Looks like it fits well, despite the ~4" width difference between vehicles. Thanks for the pics man.

i think i am going to get one of these. they are darn close. the angle seems deeper on the full size, and they are a different shape around the outer corners.

I would think you van would overheat cargo since your blocking most of the grill area. Might be ok now but if you went V8 you may have a problem? Just a thought I am no expert at all.

CC's van has been a driveway ornament since Aug '15 because it had overheating issues.

Lol. Which has nothing to do whatsoever with my bumper. It was overheating before the bumper because the engine is toast. The engine was overheating a year before the bumper went on....in fact when I had no bumper of any sort on the front.

The fullsize bumper on my van is the exact same bumper I have on my '99 K3500 both of which have the exact same size hole in the grille. The '99 K3500 had the option of a 7.4L V8 454 or 6.5L V8 diesel. I think the combo should work ok on a 4.3L V6, or whatever else.

markmitch I have to agree with you not being an expert at all.

Never said anything about the bumper having anything to do with your overheating problems CC. The worn out engine may play a big factor but i think it is more than just that. Plugged radiator fins from dirt and bugs. Blocked radiator tubes from casting sand remnants, Faulty thermostats all add up to reduce the cooling capacity considerably.

I don't recall any mention of a fan clutch replacement or E-fan conversion or any other engine work (understandable w/CA smog laws) and my understanding is that you have planned a diesel conversion all along. These vans are set up to run so hot from the factory they are on the borderline of overheating even in good running condition. With your added weight and increased stress on an already worn motor. Overheating issues are no surprise.

That's cooooool. I realize some of my van mods are pretty ancient history and not everyone has had the pleasure of seeing.

My cooling system is up to snuff. My block is shot. Corroded. Pitted. Coolant squiring into cylinders.

Why not try a bumper from the first generation Astros? Same body shape, different grill but should not effect anything powerhouse wise.
