Favorite Racks

I'm gonna start this thread just because I want to We have all seen racks of different size, shapes, uses, textures, etc. Let us all know what your favorite rack is........ Now that we have all fallen in the gutter, I mean roof racks, hitch racks, tire carrier racks, etc. There have been great build threads on roof racks (CC), tire carriers (CC, TnB), and much more.

Personally, I am a Thule guy (even though I live in Yakima), I like the fit and finish and the a--load of different attachments they have.

I've got the Cabela's roof rack with 2 extensions for the BatVan. Fit n finish was fine and the 2 extensions made it the right length. My only gripe was the width... 36" just wasn't wide enough and I wasn't crazy about how it looked.





I am considering this China Inc rack if I don't build my own...

I've seen some of the nicest racks on South Beach!
But hey... that's how we like them here in South Florida.
We don't have ski season, but we do still have to live with this year round.

Finally.

I'm kind of partial to my rack since I built it. I always liked the look of porthole racks.



























Lots of benefits when you have a nice solid rack.



There are a few places that sell something similar to what I have. Not cheap, as expected.

I just installed 3 x 66" yakima bars this morning. Found a good deal on craigslist. I was thinking 3 bars so I could mount a cargo box over the rear passenger side, and have a larger distance between the front and rear bars to be able to carry my canoe on the driver side. What I hadn't noticed prior was the subtle arch of the roof. With the rear bar all the way back on the factory track, it sits substantially lower than the other 2. Anyone have any experience/advice with a similar application? While on the subject of racks, I saw this spare carrier the other day on a nice Astro.
