Front Astro Grill interchangeable into a Safari grill?

Hi all,

We have just gotten a 98 Safari AWD. Now, the other van we have is the 87 Astro (been sitting around). Given that's my 'first' love, and overall, I do like the sleeker look of the Chevy Astro front grill, are they interchangeable at all?

I've noticed in pictures, that the lights below the main headlamp are in different positions (Safari seems to be connected, whereas the Astro has a seperator 'bar' separating it running across the whole front).

It won't be easy to put an '87 grill into a '98.
You'll have change just about everything in the front clip.

Don`t think they are interchangeable you have gen 1 and gen 2 grills..
But with modification almost everything is possible the hoods and curves are different.. same for the fenders..
the headlights wiring are hooked up different..

That's entirely possible, both front clips are the same except the badge.

Yes its possible but the Safari has a filler panel under the signal lamp the astro doesnt. So you just need to take off the panel and move the signal lamp down.
