Lower body molding removal and repair

Lower body molding removal and repair

Postby ggenelly [OP] » July 2nd 2011, 1:40pm

Hi. Was wondering if there is a way to repair the lower body cladding/molding on my 2003. It looks like the metal that mounts it to the rocker panels has riotted away, the rockers look and feel solid. thanks

I've got the same problem and have done some searching to see if I could find anything online, but I have come up empty. I did manage to get a part number, but haven't looked into it further.... The retainer for the rocker is about 20 bucks and the number is 15151226, it also lists another component 15151225, which may be the piece for under the door as it is about 10 bucks according to the sheet I printed off. I think I got this off a GM parts site.

Yeah, I can just imagine...the worst part is that they seem to be just simply strips of sheet metal with a slight bend in them and a few screws holding them on...nothing difficult to manufacture.
