86 Power Door Locks Issue

I have a loaded 2WD 1986 short Astro w/4.3 L owned since new and 335,000 mi on the clock...repowered and trans done at 210,000.Towing package, 3.73 posi rear, F-R A/C, factory alloys, P/S, P/B etc. etc.(I still have the build sheet and window sticker, and the original keys!)

Everything still works properly except the power door locks. Fronts are "sluggish" and don't always lock when you hit the "LOCK" switch on the driver door. Side and rears are INOP. Any suggestions on where to start looking? Was thinking bad ground, broken wire, bad contact(s) somewhere. Been this way for some time...project for this winter. Recently cleaned battery terminals so no problem there.

Somebody on this must must have debugged this problem before. Any suggestions/advice appreciated. Thanks!

PS also have a 2004 AWD ASTRO long body with "everything" GM NEVER SHOULD HAVE STOPPED MAKING THESE!

The ones that are sluggish are probably just dirty from dust over time , try wiping the actuating rods with a rag and spray some WD-40 on them and they will likely move they they used to,
the ones that are INOP may be dirty enough to not move as it does not take much to keep them from moving , or a bad ground , I would start at the mech inside the door , wipe clean spray with WD 40 and see if they move , then check grounds and power at the actuator lock to make sure power is there at the lock actuator

X2. The power lock motors are subject to dirt and corrosion. I have had to remove some of mine, disassemble, clean, lube, reassemble to get them back in operation. If you take the time and have the

patience, you probably will find you do not need to replace the motor/actuator assembly. The biggest headache is they are usually riveted in, and you will have to N&B them back in place.
