I run Sylvania SilverStars, they are quite a bit better then the $8 lights.

I have Sylvania Silver Stars in my 2004 Malibu. They are awesome. They are brighter and light up more area than the stock or stock replacements. They are not cheap, but they are worth the money.

i have seen at least 3 versions of Silverstars lamps I think the Ultra are the brightest but you need to realize the cost and that the Ultras don't last as long , the brighter they are the shorter the lifespan , 8 months to 1 year is about average for the Ultra if you drive at night a lot .. also consider that adding more auxiliary lights will give more light on the road than just bright bulbs ,,if you want the brightest lights the HID are very bright and if you use some thought for good and proper placement you can get bright light without blinding oncoming traffic .. a guy I met has HID mounted down low in the bumper and it really puts a lot of light on the road and not in oncoming drivers eyes , I am thinking about something similar

You can *** some HID Lights in where you can choose the color of the bulbs that they burn. I got some HID 8,000 K on top and 10,000 K on the fog lights. The lights light up a pretty good distance and as well covers my sides really good!

The very best bang for the buck is to run high amp wires directly from the battery to the lights, controlled by relays thereby using stock switch.

I have not done this on the astro but on my motorcycles this adds like 45% more light. They sell kits that go right onto bikes at easternbeaver dot com

Here is an example but I am sure they are sold for trucks too http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Wirin ... _kits.html
