Door handle circlip failure

When you have to pull the handle back all the way to click the door open, your circlip has failed on the linkage rod to click the latch to open the door. So , use this clip w/o the silver handles to fit around the rod to take up the slack. i used the 3/4" or 1" size. i think it is called a document clip. See photo. :ty:

i would need a micro camera with flashlight. when you pull the outside door handle , the rod goes up/down due to circlip failure. the document clip from office supply store clips onto and around the rod and then the rod hits the linkage with only a half inch pull on the handle to click open the door. Looks x-rated.
