03 Astro Sliding Door Glass Holder Piece ??????

03 Astro Sliding Door Glass Holder Piece ??????

Postby trextroy [OP] » December 16th 2018, 4:24am

Just bought an 03 Astro passenger van. It has the sliding door with window and it pops out from bottom. One of my employees has been riding in back seat with his arm on the 2 clamps that hold window in the open position. Now the window sags because one of the 2 round plastic dots is missing that holds the glass in place towards the top of the glass. What in the hell is that piece called? I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere on the internet! The glass now sags an inch down and cold air comes in that small hole and I can push on glass and it moves outward away from van. Thanks

From what I can tell, it's not available separately. It's part of the hinge assembly.

Best place to find the parts is a junkyard - then you can get a few spares.

Temp fix done! Inch long 3/8 bolt with lock nut, metal washers sandwiched with black rubber washers to protect glass. I put some black plasti-dip on outer bolt head to protect and match other glass holder. Looks awesome. Can only tell on inside since nut shoes but no one sees that. Hope this helps anyone that needs a quick fix.

Cool.I guess. You can get the right parts from a dealer in a few days.I think the only thing I forgot, there is a rubber washer that goes on the outside.A competent dealer will verify this.Any chance of a metal part hitting the glass, can shatter the glass, newer safety glass is much more fragile.
