"CHIP GUARD" product

Postby Rod's Trucks [OP] » May 17th 2020, 4:42am

Many years ago, I bought a couple of spray cans of CHIP GUARD ( #39803 by SEM Products) for rock protection on a rally car. It is a tough, textured, rubbery product for protecting lower panels. I bought the clear version. I only used one can, and it very well in that application. I just recently found the extra can on the shelf. It protected the lower panels very well, from stone chips and sand/dirt blasting.
I looked it up on Amazon, and it is still available ( now @ $20/can!).
I see mention of using truck bed liner type products, but I have never seen any mention of this product being used on our vans. Being CLEAR, it can be sprayed over any surface. It also comes in Black and some other colors.
Has anyone used this type of product?
