Question about Rear hatch lift sensors

Question about Rear hatch lift sensors

Postby BigLoudJoe [OP] » July 24th 2020, 5:34pm

I have a 97 astro. Right now, I have a sensor on both rear third door lift. Only one is connected to a harness. Both are from the junk yard. Am I supposed to have a sensor on both lifts? I've seen a few other posts showing a wiring diagram with two sensors, but I've also read there are 2-3 different sensor configurations. thanks!

Without looking it up,left side is for the hatch release system, and right one is for rear defrost. But I have been wrong before.

One for interior lights, and one is to tell rear door module that its open or not. And if I remember correctly, one is a normally closed contact and one is normally open.

Thanks! Does anyone have a pic of the LH wiring harness connection? Like I said, I do not appear to have a harness there to receive the sensor connection.
