Power Window Motor Spins, Window Won't Move

Power Window Motor Spins, Window Won't Move

Postby BillyJoBob [OP] » January 24th 2021, 8:54pm

1997 GMC Safari passenger van, 198,000 miles, owned 3 years

And just like that, the passenger door window became inoperable!

I can hear power window motor working using both switches but window seems disconnected somehow. It will go up and down by hand AND it will go down slowly as I drive all by itself. I have replaced several motors over the years on different vans, this motor showed no signs of slowing down or impending failure

The window regulator also does not move, it is in the up position

So the Question is ... do I have one or two problems and OFC, what do I need to do?

-Motor spins but doesn't move the regulator
-Window goes up n down but the regulator doesn't move

As always thank you in advance

Could be that the window has separated from the track, gear box stripped out. Will have to pull it apart and find out what is going on.
