Short Tail Body Question

Short Tail Body Question

Postby GasTungstenArc [OP] » May 19th 2021, 7:01pm

From what I can see online, it seems that the last year for the shorter tail body style was 1994. Is this correct?

Yes it is exactly 10 inches shorter but the wheel base is the same as all other Astro/Safari vans. Just the body was lengthened.

Right. I knew about the wheelbase. I had noticed a shortage of short tail Astros on the market and started looking into it to realize that the short body went away. It's a shame because I really like that style better.

I hope to find a G30 with the raised roof and swap in the 5.3 LS with 4l60e for traveling But I will always keep my 89 Shorty.

I know I would! I'm sure that the long back is more useful as a family truckster/vacation vehicle/lumber hauler, but the short back is way more attractive to me. I just like short things. I even shortened the wheelbase on a previous project car.
