Rear door wont stay open

Rear door wont stay open

Postby ProStreet_LS1 [OP] » May 22nd 2012, 3:56pm

My passenger side rear door wont stay open.

I stuck a empty 2 liter thru top opening while working on it, but that wouldnt look good at a car show.

I havent look at it real hard yet. Just checking to if anybody knows the problem and how to fix it.

Sounds like the door keeper opener thingy is bad, yes that is the technical term. Wasn't to long ago I think someone replaced them and did a write up.

Another option for the car show is toss the pop bottle and us a 40 of Old English ;)

Is not any good for a car show. But I keep a piece of 2x4 in the back for it. Fits perfect when it open.

+1 on the 2x4, I have a 6" piece that I throw in the gap. I did get "new" ones at the Rockford junkyard meet, and they hold it open a lot better now. I used the 2x4 once since I replaced it, but the van was on a pretty good incline (passenger side) that the door wouldn't stay open.

Fellas, I thought at car shows you were supposed to have that hot chick in the bikini holding the door open?

Jasen, you seem to have left your spare door handle on the ground there.

Well duh, if you leave it in the van, how do you get in if the doors locked
