'94 Sliding side door

'94 Sliding side door

Postby 39MasterDeluxe [OP] » February 20th 2008, 4:20pm

Hello, I have a '94 Safari and the side sliding door is getting very difficult to operate. Has anyone replaced the rollers (top and bottom), and is there anyplace you can get them other than GMC or Chevrolet? Thanks

My 93 Safari was starting to get stiff on me last year. I pulled out the inner panel where your passenger side wheel well is, after you take it out I believe ther are 3 or 4 nuts holding your outside trim piece. Take this trim off and it will show your rollers. There was a ton of gunk in there, I cleaned all the gunk out and lubed my rollers, first with white grease which is aeresol spray. Then I put some good lithium grease around the rollers and the track. Put it all back together and haven't had a problem since.
