side cladding

side cladding

Postby zzimmer3 [OP] » January 20th 2014, 6:13pm

My side cladding is in fine shape. But the metal underneath is rusting away and allowing it to start falling away. Can I buy just the metal, and keep my plastic? I would just rip it all off, but I'm afraid what's under neath and I seen on here mention of metal missing under some of the panels. So if its easier to fix the metal, I'll do that. Thanks to all.

The first website I found with the metal retaining piece was called nalley GMC. It cost over $143. That's just plain crazy. I won't be replacing them for that price. I'll wait till they get worse then deal w it. Golly gee!

The metal that the trim attaches to, not the actual van metal.

I see the brackets. Get a old door or hood or something and make some.

That's a better idea than paying that kind of money for a little piece of tin
