Factory Running Boards

Factory Running Boards

Postby astrofoto [OP] » January 31st 2014, 10:34pm

I buggered up my passenger side, factory installed running board by running over a really big rock. What's your experience: Repair or replace?

The factory running boards are pretty elaborate, consisting of a lot of separate pieces... Perhaps you only damaged a couple parts - the long metal step plate being one of the o the most likely culprits....If it were me, I'd take it apart pice by piece and see if I could straighten the affected parts....

That said, I didn't get around to actually doing it before I sold my last Astro, which had them..... Current Safari doesn't have them....

Good luck.

Definitely repair if you can. There are many threads where people were looking for running board parts that were damaged. They never found them. Junk yard or fix what you have.
