Does anyone know what these rubber hinge things are called? They seem to block the lubricant from pouring out of the hinge and keep dirt out.

They also keep the door from hitting the tail light when the arm is released to open the door fully. I have no idea what the official name is, but I picked up a few at the junk yard once. I kept them in the glove box as spares.

They might be listed on this parts breakdown:

I call them "stops" b/c that is what they basically do. Dealer only in a multi-pack

and IIRC there are L and R. I doubt if they are still available. JY would be best.

Thank you Big Kid and Uncle Bob for the quick replies.
This is my 1st Safari van and trying to find part numbers and parts in my area are proving to be a nightmare.
I've been looking for a parts manual or breakdowns, to no avail.
The search continues.

Thanks again,
Shawn

Uh oh, if they are R & L specific, I pulled a set of 4 off a j/y van and I randomly stuck one on my van. Yikes! I may have put a L on my R hinge!!!

Hey, if you can't find any and you don't go to junkyards, give me a PM and I can mail you one for free...altho I can't guarantee if it's L or R...

I think that means you now have one suicide door on the rear.

I have a dealer pak from back in the 80's, and they aren't really prone to pop off. I may remember incorrectly

if they were L&R, but I seem to remember they were. Don't trust my 'way back' memory as if it depended on

your life...it doesn't. Seems I still have most of the pak left in stock.
