Parts swap compatibility

Parts swap compatibility

Postby smokinjoe [OP] » August 24th 2015, 3:04pm

So I just bought an 02 astro LS. Huge leap forward from my 95 in terms of luxury and ride.

I am wondering how to find what parts swap from 95 to 02.(?)

The reason is that I just put shocks on the 95 under a year ago. I found the rear shocks on the 02 are the load stabilizing spring shocks like I put on the 95. How do I find if they are exchangeable?

Same goes for a few other parts.

Do I just look them up on rockauto and find out if the parts match?

That'll work. They should swap, like a lot of other exterior parts, but it's always nice to be sure. Look up BOTH vehicles, see what the part #'s are, go from there.

That's exactly how I do it. RockAuto, AutoZone, OReilly or any online parts pages. I wouldn't use Amazon for the comparison. I'm not sure where they get their application compatible tables but some or the "Doesn't fit your van" notes are simply incorrect.

They'll swap. I put rear load-leveling shocks from my '93 onto my '99 and then '02.

Go to rockauto.com and look up parts for the '95 and, in a second tab, look up parts for the '02, you can see if they're the same.

Lots of interior parts will NOT interchange, as you might have noticed by looking at them.
