Damond Plate Running Boards

Damond Plate Running Boards

Postby MVMan [OP] » August 19th 2010, 5:08pm

Anyone know of a good place to buy running boards for Safari, the fiberglass boards will not work I need the "Diamond Plate" style as my wife had to be able to get in and out with a larger step area. I had them on my old 1088 Astro, but can not find them anymore (yet) any ideas will be a great help. Thanks, MVMan

Wow, that is a seriously old Astro, I thought they started making them in 1985 but those much have been a remake of the 1088 version. Ok just ignore me, I know I'm not funny but that just doesn't stop me some days from trying anyway. I'm sorry to say that I can't seem to find any running boards like the ones you want. (I looked through all my usual suppliers and didn't find anything acceptable. Just to clarify, the running boards you are looking for are pretty much like the set I have on Sleepy here. (Only you'd prefer diamond plate steel to aluminum.)

No Carter the aluminum ones are what I had on the 1988 Astro, my fingers do not always do what I think they are doing!

The glass boards have a narrower step, the "plate" boards are wider step area.

It has been a while, but I got the running boards on my Safari, I posted photos in my album, "MVMan", take a look if you wish, the boards are 4 inch drop boards for my wife to use for entry due to her health problems. The boards are low and you have to watch curbs.
