Just a thought because I don't believe MD is the only state with that law.

I'm sure most states have some sort of law relating to it as it's a rather large safety concern. Even if it's not illegal, it simply shouldn't be done IMO, the road spray is dangerous for other drivers, then there is the added bonus of rock chips and broken windshields.

Now for offroad vehicles that are on a trailer while traveling public roads, that is another story.

Thanks for cheers  Been working hard on it. Got some pics of it outside finally. I scrubbed the whole undercarriage by hand with a giant pipe cleaner, a dish brush and a crap ton of Dawn....motor trans front diff everything I could shove a brush into. Did the same to top of motor with a electric toothbrush and a spray bottle
with heavy dawn in it. Then blasted it all (except the top of the motor) with the pressure washer. Clean finally! :screaming: That was gross! Ready for final undercoat and to tidy up wells. Having fuel issue still..only thing left is the spider, so I ordered that and a gasket set and 2 TB spacers to bring my breather back up. Going to gut the front of the motor and clean all that while I'm in there. Going to change thermostat and flush system too. Glad I cleaned it now.

Had a little delay getting the Z28 but all that has been worked out. That's gonna be an ordeal in and of its self. The poor car has been sitting a long time exposed to the elements and critters. So I think ill blast it with the pressure washer when I go to get it, then again on the trailer and then again at my house...its nasty..but who ever
said free was easy or free for that matter. but its coming. I think I may rename this Project Z2871

I only got a little done this weekend. Had a lot of family stuff going on. Still waiting on shocks and spider, should be here early week. So I figured it was a good time to
finish up the undercoating...got close but ran out. Will get a little more tomorrow and that should be the end of that. Lookin a lil cleaner everyday though.

Thanks guys  That was a lot of work. Finished up the wells, the subframe and underbody...its not perfect but its black and the only rusty thing left is my
exhaust. Hopefully my shocks will be tomorrow.

Got my shocks and spider finally. Got all that in but had to install rear shocks upside down. Guess I'm gonna have to get the relocation tabs from JOR.

Got the spider in, the task wasn't too bad but man was mine nasty in there. Cleaned it all up, added 2 TBI spacers to bring breather back in line. Seal on my manifold pressure sensor just fell apart..so I got a new one of those. She sputtered once or twice and then vroom..she's up :bouncy:

Odd thing though, when I went to crank it I noticed my speedometer has pegged itself at max..can anyone tell me why it did that. what do I need to look at or mess with
to make it go back. Did I bump something. Did I get undercoater in a connection? Just not sure why it did that.

anyway heres a few more pics

Fixed the speedometer...left battery disconnected over night, connected pos first then neg ...made it reground I guess. Got to drive it for a minute, I thought it drove really well. Still need e-brake cable(they're not on so ebrake horseshoes are trying to bite) didn't want to get em too hot.

Didn't do a lot today, just kinda took it easy. Finally flushed the cooling system, changed out the 180deg for a 195deg thermostat. The 180 was stuck open, gonna be nice to have hot heat this winter. Seems I keep leaving little red marks every where I go. I think the whole engine bay will end up red and black before its over.

Really happy with the way the air box and breather line up now. Put my K&N drop-in in it and without the side chamber its basically a factory CAI. It's definitely pulling
some serious air. After new gaskets, spider and TB spacers she's starting and running better every day. Even seemed a little smoother after the flush. Unfortunately,
I noticed some grease spitting out of the back of the inner boot on the passenger CV. That can't be good. :banghead: Is there a way to stop that? Is it an indicator that it's failing. :violin:
They are my original CV's so that may be on the list. And if that's the case it will be all new bushing time..may as well get it over with. Also got my ebrake cable in..going to do my shock mount mod first though. Finished cleaning up my hitch and flipped it to a drop.

Just on a side note...all the awesome work and invaluable information that the folks on this site share is absolutely amazing :bouncy: I have a thousand things I want to do to my van and all of you are just inspiring...and I think I may have a few nuggets of my own to share pretty soon.

A few pics from the day
