Unfortunately, things are moving slowly at the moment and have a lot to do before the holidays. :screaming:
But it's not that I don't go on when I have a few free minutes

The engine block has finally been sanded, cleaned and reconditioned, now you can start painting it

The first new parts have already found their way into the engine block. Camshaft bearings, balance shaft bearings and new frost plugs are already in there

And the first half of the engine is already painted

Christmas is over and it can go on
the engine block is painted and looks good :bouncy:

Image

Image

Image

Image

Now it's time to assemble the engine  ,let's see what performance we can get out of the engine

Image

The crankshaft bearings are already in place  , they are Clevite Tri metal

Image

The crankshafts cleaned for concentricity and runouts, checked and installed.
Runs super easy and without play in the engine block as planned

Image

Image

The pistons are mounted, they are light pistons with a low overall height.
And it still runs super easy as it was intended

Image

The Meling oil pump and steel pump shaft are installed. The oil pump is an HV pump.

Image

The camshaft is from Comp Cams, since I almost always use the valve train from Comp Cams on all engines that are built here, it was clear that everything comes in here from Comp Cams

Image

Image

The balance shaft has also been cleaned and revised and has taken its place in the engine again

At the moment things are only going on slowly, the weather is not the best and despite the heating in the workshop it is too cold to work through. :screaming:
But what should it do, it must go on even if it is piece by piece

First I installed the hydro lifters, but the ones with the shortened hub are also from Comp Cams.

Little by little, the parts from the engine find their way into their place

Image

Since I couldn't find a suitable oil pan and I didn't want to use the old one either, I quickly rewelded the old oil pan.
It was already a large oil pan with more volume, but still too small for me

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

And before anyone asks
"No, I'm not doing this for the first time"
In our V8 engines, the oil pans are always rebuilt

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

And the whole thing is completely welded and painted
