OK my wife thinks I'm nuts... but I'm seriously considering this.

Untitled-1.jpg

Don't know for sure the colors I'd use, but I'd probably try to tie in the pinstripe colors from the hood.

Maybe a little quieter colors...

Well, I decided against the big Hot Wheels logo in favor of something a little smaller.

IMG_9450.jpg

I had to scratch the billet grill because it didn't fit correctly. I ended up buying an aftermarket grill that had a huge hole where the Chevy logo belonged. I filled it in with fiberglass and smoothed everything out, base coat black, and clear coat. Then I thought the Hot Wheels logo would look cool. The logo is reflective. I really like the striping.

UPS just delivered the rear lift springs. Hopefully in the next couple of days I'll get them installed.

Stage I vinyl complete... I still need to pinstripe it. :)

IMG_0340.jpg

So far this is all vinyl. I'll hand paint pinstripes above the flames. I'm also going to ad my phone number and some secondary copy in vinyl.

Thanks, Mark, I could make them, I'd need to know how tall and long you'd like them. You'd have $35 in a pair with the shipping.

Well, I think I'm done now... Everything is to my liking. The truck has changed more than a little since I brought it home 8 months ago.

I mounted a dune flag on the front. We are going to Silver Lake Dunes in northern Michigan next month. I'm going to see how she does...

Thanks everyone. I've had a lot of fun working on this one, but I'm ready to be done with it for now and drive it. I've put over 12,000 miles on it in the past 9 months. I need to slow down, or I'm going to wear it out. Maybe I should start looking for a beater Astro...

Thanks. I'd need $80 for a pair of the hummer decals as they are... 4 different colors. 2 different colors would be $50 for a pair, shipped via USPS.

Hmm.

That's pretty good. I wouldn't need the z71 as I already have one. And I'd probably want to replace the offroad part with this websites name.

I'll PM you with some ideas if you're willing.

Also. I live in. Ahem

Canada.

Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

I got the dune flag installed per the State of Michigan's directions, we headed to Silver Lake Sand Dunes, and dropped the tire pressure to 15 PSI . The kids were very excited... (I was too.) We had the only van on the dunes.

I decided to ad "limo" lights to this one... growing up, we had a van with them and I always thought they were so cool.

I ordered some LED tape lights off of Amazon.

Then took a 1x4 piece of poplar wood and ripped it into 3 pieces. Then cut them into an "L" shape and primed and painted them.

Screwed them to the ceiling, and re-wired the van...

From the factory the front map lights turned on when you opened the doors, the rear 2 sets of map lights turned on with a switch on the dash. This always drove me nuts because you couldn't see anything in the back. So I rewired it so the doors would turn on all of the map lights, and the switch on the dash would turn on the "limo" lights.

I also installed some LED lights in the map lights, HUGE difference!

My kids love the limo lights. :)
