first off, my apologies for plastering the boards this week... in case you've stumbled across my rants/drama!
Long story short, I f***ed up big time on this 2003 lift/build... having done 4 lifted astros (all pre 2003) in the past, knowing my specs & what wheels & tires I knew I wanted was etched in my brain.. but of course I fully failed to recognize chevy did the old switcheroo on the axles on this year... so now I'm sitting on brand new 30x9.5x15 BFgoorich KO's mounted on brand new 15x8 american racing black bajas... that won't fit.. the real kick in the jaw being I ordered 15x8 wheels 2 nights ago with the correct 6 bolt lug pattern, fully not realizing that with upsized axles, comes upsized brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily another board member here may be buying the 15x8 5 on 5 lug mounted wheel & tire set from me tomorrow.. and I can return the wrong 15" 6 lug wheels to the vendor with at only a shipping loss but that's the price I pay for not paying attention!
But my question... on all my other vans I've run 15x8 wheels with a -19 offset... which were always perfectly paired to 30x9.5x15's... Now that I've got to upsize to 16" wheels to fit the calipers. The exact wheels I want only come with a 0 offset, the vendor said these should work just fine on this 03 astro but my fear is with the BFG At ko's is my sliding door may not pass... can anyone confirm if the 0 offset will be ok?
Also, I cannot seem to find a tire calculator that will spit out what a 30x9.5x16 tire is in metric... anybody know that translation?
Sorry to make my bonehead moves the boards clutter ya'll! I still cannot believe I stared at this van for 2 weeks & didn't notice 6 lugs instead of 5! Too busy powdercoating light bars & nerding out on rear door jerry can mounts & roof racks!
THANKS FOR THE HELP!
