Lubricating side door 1993 CL

I’ve only had my Astro since last summer and have had to clean the side door rolling system half a dozen times because it was hard to move forwards and backwards.
Is there supposed to be any lubricant in the channels or rollers, or is it best to leave them dry? Seems the different oils or grease I have tried just attracts grit.

I've always hit mine with WD-40 (over the decades).. even though some might say this is wrong.
Super easy.. and it's always worked like a charm for me! Door slides effortlessly!

If they get gritty and dirty.. just hose them first.
All greases and lubricants attract dirt in my opinion.
I say don't spend to much time overthinking this.

For general purpose stuff I like silicone for light lube where I want it to not attract dirt and where I might brush up against it.
White lithium where a heavier lube is needed and it doesn't matter as much if it attracts dirt + not likely to rub up against it.

Of course, GM would recommend their brands of Lubriplate Lubricant Aerosol GM P/N 1052349 and Superlube GM P/N 12346241

It may be worth it to check the condition of the Rollers / Bearings / Tracks.
The top and bottom arms are easy enough to remove and the 2 tracks are also easy enough to clean.
These Bearings may not be avail thru GM, but are certainly avail by size, width, diam. stats.
Most cities have a bearing distributor.

Gen I Vans ( 85-95 ) have a welded to the door Center Roller assy.
It is quite involved getting the Center Roller assy. out, or even the Bearings off it.
Fortunately, the Center does not get as bad, under easy conditions.

A good air compressor and lots of PB Blaster will flush out dirt well - Tracks may take a bit more.
Sealed bearings may be a good buy.

I’ll try that. It’s real rough to slide and it gets tougher over time. Soon as I lube it with a spray, it’s much better, but then it starts getting gritty again in a few weeks.
Before this Astro I had a high top conversation on a Savanah I used for camping. The door on the Savannah was never lubed, but never needed anything to keep it smooth as butter.
