Leaking water

Leaking water

Postby grandpavan [OP] » December 2nd 2017, 11:19pm

Hey y'all.

My 98 AWD Astro (named Linda) leaks in a couple of places. The rear dutch door leaks are no surprise, but does anyone have a lead on where to get replacement rubber? Or how to patch things up to make the old rubber more effective? It's all in place, just seems like maybe it doesn't make as solid of a seal when everything is closed up.

The leak I'm more worried about, is coming in over the dog house, under the cup holder area, more on the passenger side. Any idea where to start looking for that one?

Cheers and thanks in advance!

That would make more sense seeing he does not see any water coming down the inside of the windshield, unless it is leaking on the bottom which I think is rare.

make sure you check under the windshield wipers cowl. There are a few drains there that feed out behind the front fenders IIRC.

Sometimes those just get clogged and it builds up enough water to get into the vents, and then into the cabin. when the drains are working correctly there should not be enough water pooling in that space to run into the cabin.
