bucket seats/ racing seats for the astro ?

Postby JordanW [OP] » August 4th 2008, 3:13am

well i rippied out the old seats cuz they are ugly and blue lol so i need to get a set of seats to fit in the 93 astro van but i need them to also have the capabilities of having a 4 or 5 point racing harness/seat belts since i am ripping mine out ... i know i can get then on ebay and stuff but what i dont know is if they will sit right because the seats i got now have like a cage under them and they sit up a lil ... if i get the bucket seats of the net it looks like the will be flat on the floor allmost ... that wont work so any one know where to get a set that is raised a lil ?

You can buy the "race" style seats and just reuse the base of the stock seats. They unbolt from the stock seat, if the new seats are wider you can weld in a plate that goes across the stock base tracks. That is what I did, I put 99+ Eclipse seats in on the stock bases and had to weld in a square plate from the new seat tracks to the stock base. Waalah. It's better this way so you can still unbolt the seats, and they are more like factory. Height shouldn't be to much of a problem, they might end up 1/2"-1" higher...

Junk yard is probably your best friend. Either that, or a member on here might have one laying around.
