trim covers for floor seat brackets?

Postby CaeSly [OP] » October 26th 2018, 3:54am

Hi All. I recently purchased a passenger astro to be used for sleeping when camping/hunting. It has middle bucket seat bolts and rear seat brackets in the floor. Do they make plastic trim pieces or something to cover these up? Been searching but may not being using the right terms, haven't found anything. The bolts stick up and I'd prefer not to cut them off. I realize I could custom fab some piece for that. The rear seat brackets look like they would have some sort of cover piece for when no seat is present. Pic for reference. TIA

Buy an Azek pvc trim board at your Home Center.
Drill a hole for the bolt, as close to the bolt size as possible.
Trim to size.
Bang them on over the bolts for a snug fit.
If you ever need to remove them, split them with a chisel. The pvc will not damage the bolt thread.

That's an idea. And I have some pink foam insulation board I can use to do similar. The rear brackets aren't as big of deal but do they really not make cover pieces for those?

having some insulation under where you are going to sleep is a good idea, and you can get a 4 x 8 sheet of 3/4" in Home Depot.. just drop it in, the bolts will go into it and give you a nice flat surface to snooze on.
