I am also curious. Dose anyone know what years they were offered? I would like to upgrade my wifes 95. I haven't seen one In a astro but have seen several them in safaris.

There are several threads on here about that.

I don't see it as an upgrade, personally. My parents had a Subaru GL-10 wagon with digital dash and it was absolutely AWFUL.

I agree I also wanted to do this on my 89 but then we bought a Oldsmobile Bravada with digital gauges, they functioned fine but when ever I the sun hit it I couldn't see the gauges at all. Also the speedo would like once every 3rd time driving it go all wonky speed would show in miles then kilometers or I would be doing 65 on the freeway and it would be showing 65 then 45 then 55 then go back to 65. Kind of strange huh.

After asking about the dash swap here I got the chance to get a cluster from a friend. After a beer and his recollection I left with out the digital cluster and harness. He told me hard to see during the day and hard on the eyes at night. He did admit that it looked cool at the dealership but he also thought the cassette player was "*****".

I'm curious about switching from digital to analog in my 94. Is it just as easy as pulling a dash out of a donor van and swapping it out or does it take more than that? If so I'll gladly pawn off my digital display to anyone who may want it.

No, it isn't plug & play, the plug on the dash is different and in a different location between the analog & digital dash, so not an easy swap. I had looked into it almost a decade ago when I came across a digital dash in the junkyard, but felt it was too involved, plus I didn't know if the digital dash even worked, so I passed.

Going that way might actually be worth the hassle.
