Seat Belt Testing

Seat Belt Testing

Postby oldmanbean [OP] » August 30th 2020, 10:04pm

In my 04 safari, the driver and passenger shoulder belts both stop when I pull on them abruptly. None of the rear ones do. I have gathered here that there are two different types of seat belts: a centrifugal mechanism that locks with rapid rotation of the belt spindle, and a pendulum that locks with hard forward momentum. Is it possible that my passenger and driver are centrifugal and the rear ones are pendulum? Thanks.
