Rear seat swap

Rear seat swap

Postby bawanderr [OP] » November 7th 2013, 7:06am

Hi, I'm considering buying a 2003-2005 Astro/Safari with rwd 4 captn chairs front and middle. What I'd like is to have the rear seat a complete fold-down seat to sleep on for camping. Is such an option offered and, if so, will it swap out easily with a regular rear bench seat if that's what I buy comes with? I've seen pics of rear benches folding down but they don't look like they are really "beds". Is this clear as mud yet? If these types of "bed" seats are available and will easily swap out, are they hard to find and what's a good price? I'm not real picky on color, just functionality at this point. Thanks you any help you can send my way.

Sounds like you're looking for a fold down bed from a conversion van. They're out there, look in junk yards or maybe put a wanted ad on Craigslist. People buy conversion vans and gut them for work vans fairly often.

Installing it will be fairly simple, but they don't hook in using the factory floor pockets. They get put in place and bolted directly to the floor. That's how mine is installed.
