Do the seats come out of an astro van?

Hey everyone, I'm new here, and... shock horror.. I DON'T OWN AN ASTRO VAN


BUT living in the UK, they are quite hard to come by, and they are annoyingly expensive (as well as fuel being rediculously high here) AND insurance wont cover me until i'm about 25.

But anyway, I am thinking about getting an astro van in a few years time perhaps as I reckon one would be ideal for carrying all my disco gear (i'm a mobile DJ). So my question is: Do any of the rear seats come out of these vans to maximise their potential for carrying equipment?

Id rather not buy a generic van because you cna ONLY use them for carrying gear around which I don't do too often and 2) of course, an astro van is SOOOOO much cooler!!

Anyone know if this is possible?

First of all WELCOME! Considering an Astro van is a good choice.

Yes, absolutely. I've never seen an Astro/Safari that the rear seats do not remove easily with the pull of a lever. The mounts that the seats attach to are even sunk in the floor so once the rear seat is out there isn't anything to get in the way of putting equipment in them.

In my 1986 Chev Astro, with the seats in I have seatbelts for 8 people including myself as the driver. When I pull both rear seats, which is just a pull of a lever and push of a button, I now have enough room for a 4 x 8 sheet of wood or as in my case a queen sized air matress for the wife and I to go camping in.
You are on the right path to one of the coolest rides around if you as me. Easy to fix, maintain, or mod to your liking.

Just recently I went to the local dealers to look at new trucks and found all I saw was plastic disposable junk from all the leading manufacturers. All for the low low price of 25000 to 30000 dollars, I figure I can rebuild all of my Astro from stem to stern for less than half of that and feel better in the fact that I have something I actually like to drive everyday.

I have been playing for years in a band, and I can leave the middle seat in so we can all cruise together. This is how much it holds while leaving the middle seat in:

-3 Guitars, 1 Bass Guitar
-Bass Amp
-2 Guitar Amps (1 Half Stack)
-Full 5 Piece Drum Set, stands, throne, etc
-Guitar Rack
-Pedal Boards
-Merchandise box

All of this in comfort.

The bench can be replaced by captain seat whithout drill the floor?

In my 1986 Chev astro, the seats go into pockets in the floor, and there is only 4 of them per row of seats. I would think 4 per bucket seat and spaced closer together would be more the norm. The buckets are not an option for my van without some cut and weld work.
