Stupid seatbelts!!!!! pull, pull, pull, nothing!

Stupid seatbelts!!!!! pull, pull, pull, nothing!

Postby g0t0pless [OP] » February 22nd 2010, 5:43am

I get so frustrated with the seatbelts in my new-to-me van. The driver's belt pulls out fine, but doesn't retract on it's own. The passenger seat belt won't pull out unless you pull it suuuuuuuuper slow, but it retracts just fine. Is there something I can do to correct this? Or just replace the belts? If they need replaced, what should I replace them with? Junkyard parts or aftermarket?

Take a look at the retactors for dust, grit, grime. You will have to remove some plastic panels. I would try low pressure, low moisture content compressed air in the mechanism and see if they improve. No penetrating oil. Any accident history?

Couldn't tell you. I'll see if they are damaged in any way.
