Pulling ATC codes

Pulling ATC codes

Postby Axmechanical [OP] » October 10th 2020, 5:18am

Does anyone know how to fully access the ATC (automatic transfer case) codes as inexpensively as possible. These are custom to GM codes related only to the transfer case and related to engaging the front axle, and the front rear out shaft speed sensors, they are NOT OBD codes and are not accessible via any sort of routinely available code reader. The GM scan 2 is the only device I am aware of that can access these, however these require assuming a mortgage on said device to get possession of one. There are Chinese clones that appear to be a possible option. If anyone has knowledge of a good usable clone or any other techniques for accessing these codes please provide your helpful advice.

Cheapest would be an android phone if you have one already with a Bluetooth ELM327 obd2 transmitter and the app car gauge pro. It’ll read every code these vans throw.

Have you actually retrieved an ATC code using the car gauge pro? I don't see in their info where it shows the ATC codes as a covered code?

Actually I see that app is so cheap I'll just go ahead and check it out. Thanks.

Yes, I have used it for quite some time. It covers the extended codes. However it was written for an older version of android and hasn't been updated in forever. But mine still works perfectly, though it would be nice to have some feature and stability updates.

Auto gauge pro does the job as recommended by birdshake, thanks for the recommendation. Got all chassis codes related to the ATC/transfer case. The app is a little or maybe a lot clunky but it gets the codes! Android 9 with bluetooth hardware from the thread. Sweet.
