looking for info-S-10 cast iron front axle

Postby markmitch [OP] » September 12th 2020, 3:44am

OK so I am hunting for the hard to find front axle assembly that is cast iron instead of aluminum I figure I will be in NorCal another year at least and I see many S-10's both trucks and blazers in the pick n pull yards here. But all I know is they came in 4x4 trucks/blazers with standard trans only I do not know what years , what gear ratio's or how to make one work in an Astro/Safari. i tried to look on one of the s-10 forums but when I tried to register it kicked me out? Any help would be greatly welcomed Thanks Mark

Why would you want one? Overall, they are not much stronger, people that put full time lockers in them found them to be stronger, but you could not drive their vehicles on the road.If aftermarket people made air or cable controlled lockers, for the front end, then i could see a reason to look for one. Will leave you some links.
