Limited-Slip Front Differential Carrier Solution

I am wondering if anyone is familiar with Jeff out of Atlanta who has a limited-slip front differential carrier that he builds. I have been surfing around the S10 Blazer forums and came across this older thread, albeit still relevant. I called Jeff and he is still in business and has said his product works just as well in the Astro.

Since I recently installed a cast-iron carrier and did the JOR 4X4 T-case conversion with the NP 231, I have been trying to figure out an elegant and capable solution for the front differential of an Astro without having to do a SAS Dana 30 or 44. The inventor aad builder Jeff, says if you send him the carrier he can convert it to LS for around $600.

Is there anyone on here who has installed this????

This page talks all about differential options - the engineered performance and one other are the options for the front diff in our vans it appears.

Well,actually I think the"cast iron" is actually "cast steel".The strongest front diff housing for our small vehicles.You can run a locker in them,for a while.A "limited slip" is like a bit of salt on the walkway,on ice.On a dry road,it will drag,affect your steering,wear your tires,drive you crazy.This does not happen in the rear differential.Don't waste your money.What Astro people want is an air or electric front locker,like an OX LOCKER, to be completely disengaged,when necessary.

I am talking with him now. Going to be sending a front differential to him. Some say that the aluminum housings won’t hold up. I am going to find out. It will be a while before it goes in. I am collecting parts so I can do it all at once

That's pricey for a front diff but there's really no alternative.
I'm waitin for Capt Crunch to will me his front Torsen
Typhoon's have alum front diff housings. They don't break in that application, they're not gonna break in ours.
