Old tail pipe rusted and fell off. I bought a new pipe and clamped it to the muffler and 3 weeks later, the pipe breaks closer to the muffler. Now I don't have enough to réclamp the new tail section. Does this look like it can be rewelded?

Pep boys sells little extention pipe for just this. Less than 10 bucks. If it will stick to the rusty stub left at the muffler your set. If not your not behind much.

Be honest and question how the inside of the muffler looks. Usually when this happens, it's time to make the donuts...

I've had this happen too many times to not know when the pipes and muffler are tired. I think you are headed for more

frustration in trying to do a repair rather than a replace [and be done with it.]

If you trim off that rusty 1/2" bit of pipe you may be able to weld to the existing weld seem there....but after having welded my own brand new pipes....I'd say that's a fools errand. It's difficult to weld new pipe so I can't imagine welding what you have there.

Is the store brand a direct bolt on? Is this the one?

I rather do a clamp on since I do not have access to welding tools.

Thanks,

Sorry Mate...you need to replace that...Like the others have said, that muffler has seen better days and better to replace now then have it fall off on the highway...
