1996 to 1999 5.7L Vortec cast iron stock headers

Postby Gary [OP] » May 28th 2008, 1:14pm

Anyone know a of a stock cast iron header that fits a Astro using 1996 to 1999 5.7L Vortec heads??.I think they are different than the stock header 1995 and before.I am dead set against using tube headers.

Gary: wish I knew. Does this mean my soon-to-be 98' 5.7 vortec manifolds won't work in my AWD with 2 in body lift?

From the Sy/Ty guys the ports are something like 1/2 inch higher up on the Vortec heads. They are not "D" ports, like the ZZ3/later LT1 heads. You should be able to use standard manifolds on them, even though depending on your situation they may not fit.
