Is it normal for water to be dripping from the Catalytic convertor?
Also does the Catalytic convertor get louder when it goes bad?
Lately on my 2002 Astro its dripping water and sounds a little louder like it hs some kind of exaust leak

Is it the cat or is it a failed flange gasket between the cat and muffler. Exhaust systems do drip water, especially when they are first started up (cold). I have to replace the flange bolts on my wifes' '01 truck.
The studs have rusted away, and 1 is now missing. Figgure I'll drill out the remainder, and nut and bolt the sucker. Any how, the system is noisier than it was a while back, and I think it is the flange leaking.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Block the tailpipe outlet with a rag while it's running and listen for leaks. Water dripping when the engine is cold is normal.
