I have been looking into Diagnostic Software for my 1995 van and after a search I
have found what looks could be usefull to some of you here.

Here is a bunch of programs:

GM 6.5 Turbo Diesel Scan- http://www.enghmotors.com/basic/default.aspx

And here is some info on making leads to go from PC to your van:

http://www.scribd.com/doc/487929/GM-819 ... ter_page_1

This page has missing bits and is out of date but it seems to have all needed to make
a lead up.

If you know of any better info or you have a pc based system that is known to work well
on a 95 Astro, Let us all know
. When I get some time I will make myself a interface
up and have a play.

Some of the software listed in this thread is also listed on the

http://www.aldlcable.com/

website toward the bottom of the page ;with pics , description of how it works and screenshots of the live data software progs with OBD1 all you need is the cable to connect between the PC and the vehicle and the software and you can get live data on the PC screen ,

For 96 and newer OBD2 vehicles you need an interface module device that can interpret the data protocol , so with OBD2 you need the cable , software PC, and a OBD2 interface device hardware to get it to work on 96 and newer vehicles
