Remember,the roof of an Astro is rated to carry only a bit of weight.On the other hand,I can see in certain situations,the extra bars could come in handy.(especially for reducing fuel mileage)

Just a few lengths of trim boards, which buffet in the wind without center support. After several Astros, I know the limitations.
