this I dont under stand 1 book stated not to series wire a coaxal speak that has a cap. built in .will start to distort ?does anyone know this to be true . Ihave a pair of mtx 3way box with bad twetter in one mid in other have horns but the mids are coaxal to match ohms Ineed to wire in series. going to wire the lows series seperate and bridge the amp.???????????????? :confused:

It depends , some have dual voice coils and some do not , if you have one with a bad tweeter just clip the lead to the tweeter and you can use the woofer , use a meter to measure the ohms , if done correctly it can be done , you have to measure the voice coils of each speaker , even on the coaxial spkrs, It is not usually done , that is wiring coaxial in series with other speakers but if you measure and match the impedance you probably be ok , most people just change out the speakers

thanks I really like the hi and mids as a filler in the rear . so as long as the ohms match its ok . thats why iam doing it in the first place to match the ohms .cool
