Pics of my Maxitrip Auto Computer

Postby AstroCan [OP] » January 16th 2011, 3:06am

Here are some pics of my Autel Maxitrip. Bought at http://www.princessauto.com for 60$. It's a trip computer, has digital gauges such as RPM, does OBD code scanning and works as a vehicle black box. It plugs into the OBD port. I installed it in the center of the dash (temporary 5 minute install) with some velcro and routed the wire through that plastic cover that pops out behind the dash bezel. Will do a cleaner install once it gets a little warmer.
So far I like it. It's illuminated and fun to play around with.

Sweet. If the cord wasn't sticking out the side it'd almost be easy to put in the dash somewhere.

You can plug it into the back, too. Either or.

How much did it run you? I have seen a lot of these devices for sale. I am curious as to which one of them tends to be the better one?

59$ at princessauto.com

After using it for a while, the only thing I don't like about it that you have to manually turn it on every time you start the van. Wish it would turn on automatically.

I'm a gadget junkie...I purchased the "Ultrgauge" a while back, and I see features of your unit I like better. The Ultrgauge has no amp/volt readout, and the buttons are on the back, which is less convenient. The ultragauge is smaller and does automatically come on when the van is started, it does not unplug like your unit, that seems like a nice feature too. Nice find, thanks for posting~
