How to add aux cord to stock radio

2002 astro

Wondering if i can install an aux cord capability to my stock radio. Buddy of mine mentioned since i have a 2002 my radio has cd changer capabilities which would allow me to adapt an aux cord.

Bluetooth would b nice out of my stock radio too....but not totally necessary

You may want to check eBay as well - there are a couple of outfits on there that mod stock GM radios to include an AUX input (which they supply as a 3' cable you can dash mount)- I bought one of these that worked out pretty well for a while.

Operation is a bit clunky however - after about a year I just spent $100 on double-din, cut my dash and have a unit that does AUX, USB, bluetooth etc - in retrospect I probably should have gone that route to begin with since the lower-end units really are very cheap.

No you do not, the CD player works normally as soon as you remove the headphone plug from the jack.

I noticed that I have the unused port in the back....is that for the onstar? Dont they make sumn to plug in there?

It's for the self destruct Flux capacitor interface for the stock quantum drive , buuut that's only on the SLT/loaded model

I got the second one (after the first was soaked) on eBay for not so much money.

I will have to take a look on eBay, it's not so bad now that I added Bluetooth, but sometimes it would be easier to switch tracks directly on the factory radio.
