front speaker door install in 95 astro

Postby safari kev [OP] » July 21st 2014, 1:38am

I am wanting to upgrade my speakers in my 95 astro as the factory speakers are horrendous and the passengers front speaker is blown. I am wanting to do a front component installation....tweeters on the dash (or pillars), 6.5" woofers in doors. has anyone put 6.5" woofers in the front doors of an 80s-95 astro/ safari? I know it will take custom adapters (I have the means to make them), but I am wondering if anyone has pictures of their install of component speakers in a first gen astrofari. Basically, I want to get some ideas on what would look good before I cut up my door panels. any help would be appreciated.

The best way is to fiberglass a custom setup. I've got plenty of pics, from different Astro/Safaris door panels.
You asked for a 6.5" component setup. Here is mine. Not the greatest pic as I was only wanting to get the speaker and door popper button at the time.

No sir, I don't. All the fiberglassing in the van was done before I bought it, unfortunately

I will try to find pics of my old door panels. They had 4 6.5" speakers and 4 2" tweeters in each one, and were easier to build than doing fiberglass.
