The perfect radio?

The perfect radio?

Postby oman [OP] » February 28th 2015, 9:50pm

So I found the radio I want. http://www.amazon.com/Koolertron-Upgrad ... al_qh_dp_t

(shortened link in case of trouble http://goo.gl/vn3e7O )

It's a Koolertron ql-jep816.

Here's a thread about it on a jeep forum. You can read it, I didn't. 15 pages http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f310/so- ... 6-2242937/

And as per this post http://www.gmtruckcentral.com/articles/RB1install.html,

I think it will work. I don't have the funds right now, but I thought I would share in case anybody wanted to be the guinea pig get a clean looking aftermarket radio.

*Let it be noted that I am perfectly happy with my stock radio and an fm transmitter for my phone, I was just bored so I found this.

I actually really like factory radio with integrated CD. it's nothing special..but functional and easy to use. That one though looks nice too.
How many sensors, fuses or computers does a Bw4472 need? Zero.

I don't like the .35amp drain on the battery. The price point is nice for a set up that includes navigation, considering equivalents cost twice that much....but Dat drain though...

Aesthetically, it's pleasing since it has knobs. I hate not having a solid knob tuner/volume. Hard to turn a radio on/off or adjust volume when you have gloves on in the winter....that's where I really like the stock GM radio.

I've heard good things about Soundstream, but it looks like it's getting harder to find them in stock.
A temporary fix usually becomes a permanent solution, therefore it does not exist.

I like my audio to work 100% of the time so this one is out for me(I actually read the jeepforum link).
