I finally got my Ultra-Gauge and its awesome I highly recommend it for any of us with OBDII vehicles its a lot smaller than you would expect but 100% readable.

I've been quite happy with this device. Auto zone said I needed a new cat and O2 sensor. I replaced the cat and all sensors about 4-5 years ago so I had my doubts, the engine temp was low, 150 tops so I changed the thermostat, had a code for the MAF, cleaned it, checked the wires. I found a vacum leak. Also a code for random misfire, 300, 301, 304, replaced the plugs, I'll change the wires,cap and rotor when I have time but I be damned if I'm a gonna run right to the counter and slap down $500 on a new cat and sensors because a salesman tells me to!

I wouldn't say that but damn,,,, I hate getting stuck myself. The code readers at an auto parts store could be a scam and a half in the wrong hands. They don't do direct commisions at autozone but they do bonuses,,,,,,

I was going to buy a tach for the dash anyway, but this is great! Just what every taxi driver needs, code warnings and all.

I wish I'd known about this when they introduced it at $39.95! I've been reading forum reviews of the Ultragauge compared to the Scangauge II. You can get the Scangauge from Amazon for $130 shipped, but the consensus seems to be that the Ultragauge is every bit as good as the Scangauge. Each has it's pros and cons, but it looks like the Ultragauge has a better display.
I just hit the "Buy" button for the Ultragauge. Will make a nice Christmas present for myself.

I got the Ultragauge in the mail earlier this week. All I can say is it seems like a really cool product. I haven't even begun to dig into all of its features, that's going to take some time with the manual. The basic displays are very useful, and I'm going to like having the instant mpg readout, and of course an OBD II tool. It looks like you can even set it up to monitor sensor functions. You can also set up high and/or low limit alarms for any gauge or sensor.

The display looks real nice, and it has an autodim function. There are menus to set up brightness, contrast, dimming etc. I'm not crazy about the windshield mounting although it's easy to read there; I think I'll end up velcro-ing it to the dash above the radio.

The mounting / control buttons are the only con I have found with this thing. The buttons on the back limit how and where it can be mounted.

How well does it seem to do in calculating actual mileage per tank? Might be worth checking into with me having a dead fuel gauge..lot cheaper than buying a new fuel pump just for the sending unit.

You can calibrate the milage so the accuracy is on you, I use it more for the speedo than gas because my tires are larger but if my gas guage were flaky I could dial it in.

Seems to me that I'm going to have to seriously look at picking one up then. If I end up not using it for my van, I can always put it in the wifes Exploder.
