Got Heat...Blower Fan...Nothing Out of Vents

Got Heat...Blower Fan...Nothing Out of Vents

Postby tntv [OP] » January 11th 2011, 10:01pm

How do I address no heat coming out of dash and floor when I can hear both fan motors working fine and can feel heat residual heat coming out. I can hear and feel it in the box under the passanger dash. No heat but same story on the rear heat too. Nothing in my Haynes manual. What do I take a part, if anything, to diagnose? Any help would warm my soul! Thanks. 2000 Astro 4.3L

Blend door not moving , maybe a vacuum line has cracked and leaking , or maybe fallen off,
not sure on the rear heat as I have not worked on those

Try the vaccuum line that is attached UNDER the Temp "Mixer" valve...mine came off and was doing the same thing.

If you lost vacuum, then the blend door has probably closed on the dash heater, you should get defrost by default though. IF it's a loss of vacuum, then the rear heat solenoid has closed as it needs vacuum to pull the valve open to allow heat to flow to the rear heater.
A temporary fix usually becomes a permanent solution, therefore it does not exist.

Wow....found a fix on this site. Bad vacum line which solved the dash vent issue. Still can hear the fan working for the rear heater at the floor of driver's side passenger seat but nothing coming out. I'm pretty sure there is heat and the fan is working. Another...different vacum line? Also, I'm still not getting anything on the driver's side floor. Great site.

Ok so I dont know to start a new one or put it hear? I have read a few of this same problem up hear and I have found what is wrong but my vacum setup is differnt from the diagam up here and the dealer. Maybe the guy before me change it. So my question is do you need to use the vacum resovor thing. And any advice on a hole in the fiewall for running new vacum lines? My factor one broke right behind the battery.

Most likely the rear heat issue is the valve next to the blower box behind the AC dryer. The valve may have failed. The default setting is off. I believe there are two vacuum fittings on it...switch them and see if you get heat.

That diagram is from my '93 FSM, so it probably doesn't apply to your '95.
